    Unlike many traditional colleges, where students spend most of their time listening to lectures in most programs, ITT Tech students also spend considerable time in the lab, where they are encouraged to apply what was taught in the classroom and see for themselves how, why and what makes things work.



  • Blue Jays CF Wells has wrist surgery (AP)

    Blue Jays center fielder Vernon Wells has had surgery on his left wrist and is expected to be ready for spring training. The team said Friday that doctors repaired cartilage in his wrist, which he broke diving to make a catch against the Indians in 2008. Wells struggled through one of his worst seasons as a pro in 2009, batting just .260 with 15 home runs and 66 RBIs.

  • Arenas practices, finger still issue (AP)

    Gilbert Arenas took part in five-on-five halfcourt drills at Washington Wizards practice on Friday after sitting out scrimmages the previous two days. Wizards first-year coach Flip Saunders says the oft-injured Arenas has taken part in just about everything during training camp but a dislocated finger sidelined him for the scrimmages.

  • West to report to Cavaliers camp (AP)

    Cavaliers guard Delonte West, facing gun possession charges, is expected to report to Cleveland's training camp Monday. West was arrested on Sept. 17 after police said he was carrying two concealed handguns and a shotgun when he was pulled over on a three-wheel motorcycle near his Maryland home. Carrying an unlicensed handgun is a misdemeanor in that state.

  • Fired ref on list of camp replacements (AP)

    A referee who was previously fired by the NBA is among the group of replacements who have agreed to participate in training camp next week. Michael Henderson is one of 44 who was sent an e-mail from the NBA's referees operations department on Friday. The Associated Press obtained a copy of the e-mail, which provides the replacements with details about the meetings, scheduled to begin Thursday…
