Chicago was eliminated in the first ballot of voting for the 2016 Olympics on Friday, a stunning defeat for the city that was expected to be one of the two finalists. Tokyo was also eliminated, leaving Rio de Janeiro and Madrid as the finalists.

Posted by: The Hip Hop DEMOCRAT Well within a time span of 45seconds Chicago’s hopes and dreams of hosting the Olympics have been crushed. Chicago which was considered to be one of the favorites for the 2016 Olympic games was the first city eliminated from competition.
Just thinking about the Millions of dollars lost, trying to “convince” this committee to have the games here, and how that money could have been put to better use. Also Im thinking how millions of Chicago citizens will look at this as a great defeat, instead of realizing that there are bigger fights that we need to focus our attention on. I cant help but wonder if all the violence heavily publicized didn’t help either.
