Gucci Mane Sentenced To A Year In Prison

If life could intimate art, the cover to Gucci Mane‘s forthcoming Dec. 8 album ‘The State vs. Radrick Davis’ would prove to be an irony of sorts. According to ‘MTV News,’ the ‘So Icy’ rapper was arrested and sentenced to a year in prison today stemming from a probation violation.

The startling news comes as shock to many given Gucci’s unyielding presence in today’s hip hop scene. The Atlanta native, who was named one of MTV’s hottest MCs, has been featured on chart-topping singles from likes of Mario, Omarion, Mariah Carey, and is also expected to appear on Timbaland‘s forthcoming album ‘Shock Value 2’ — not to mention the rapper’s most recent collaboration with R&B superstar, Usher for his lead single ‘Spotlight.’

Despite Gucci (legally known as Radrick Davis) serving six months in prison last year for failing to meet a previous court-ordered 600 hours of community service, he may also serve the same length of time for his current violation.

Upon his release last March, he spoke with ‘MTV News’ about his 2008 incarceration. “It was a challenge for me,” he said. “I’m just happy my team kept my music going strong for me. And I’m happy I recorded so many records so people could hear me.”

Chris Brown Makes Comeback At Powerhouse

This week has been quite busy for Chris Brown — to say least. On Monday, the ‘Gimme That’ singer officially announced the Dec. 15 release date for his forthcoming album ‘Graffiti.’ On Tuesday, Brown premiered his new video ‘I Can Transform Ya,’ in addition to taking the stage for a headlining performance at Power 105.1’s Powerhouse ’09 concert. The concert marked Brown’s first stage performance since his Feb. assault of then-girlfriend Rihanna. Head over to ‘MTV News’ for a complete recap of the show.

Meanwhile check out what Omarion and Polow Da Don had to say about Chris’ comeback below.

    Usher 911 Call

Last week reports were circulating stating that R&B superstar Usher had called authorities back in September to report that his car had been keyed, and that he implicated his estranged wife, Tameka Foster. Well apparently TMZ got their hands on the 911 tape which reveals the ‘Confessions’ singer explaining in detail what he believes took place.

“I want to report a situation where my car has been keyed,” Usher said. “…It happened last night apparently. I called [last night] and filed a complaint because of a potential domestic violence [situation] between me and my ex-wife. She had come to my house. They sent the police here last night; we filed a complaint.”

In response to the tape’s release a rep for Foster told MTV News the story is “totally preposterous” and “did not happen.”

  • Aubrey’s Sex Tape Comes Out Next Week

Posted by: LittleMissDivasWorld Aubrey is currently preparing for her Las Vegas debut in “Peepshow,” as well as working on her very own reality show. “There’s a lot of problems I’m having doing it, in the sense that everyone’s really used to making 15-minutes-of-fame-type shows, shows that have train wrecks,” she told MTV News. “I don’t want to play a role to get ratings…I don’t want to make up story lines. We’ve made up enough story lines for Making the Band. I want to make a reality show. I want to tell people the truth. I’m doing some gritty things.”
