  • Brewers decline Looper’s $6.5M option (AP)

    The Milwaukee Brewers have declined their $6.5 million mutual option on Braden Looper, electing to pay the pitcher a $1 million buyout. The team had until Saturday to decide whether to exercise the option on the 35-year-old right-hander, who now becomes eligible for free agency. After signing with the Brewers as a free agent on Feb.

  • Bobcats sign G Murray for 1 year, $1.9M (AP)

    The Charlotte Bobcats came to terms late Thursday with free agent guard Ronald "Flip" Murray on a one-year, $1.99 million deal. Agent Mark Termini said Murray chose the Bobcats after also having discussions with the Cleveland Cavaliers. He averaged 12.2 points last season coming off the bench for the Atlanta Hawks, and gives coach Larry Brown more options in the backcourt.

  • Wolves sign PG Sessions to offer sheet (AP)

    The Minnesota Timberwolves wasted little time moving on after being rebuffed by Ricky Rubio. Two days after the 18-year-old point guard backed out of a deal to join the Timberwolves this season, Minnesota signed restricted free agent Ramon Sessions to an offer sheet Friday. The Milwaukee Bucks will have seven days to match the four-year, $16 million offer.

  • Celtics ink free agent G Marquis Daniels (AP)

    The Boston Celtics have signed free agent guard Marquis Daniels. Daniels is coming off the best of his six seasons, averaging career highs of 13.6 points and 4.6 rebounds in 54 games with the Indiana Pacers, 43 of them starts. The Celtics announced his signing on Tuesday. The 28-year-old Daniels spent three seasons with Dallas before moving to Indiana.
