    CC Sabathia sounded a bit glum. His World Series debut didn't turn out the way he wanted. The Big Man was outpitched by former Cleveland teammate Cliff Lee, just like on opening day at the new Yankee Stadium. After carrying New York into the championship on his broad back, Sabathia struggled somewhat as the Yankees lost to the Philadelphia Phillies 6-1 in Wednesday night's opener.

  • Clippers F Griffin could miss 6 weeks (AP)

    Blake Griffin's NBA debut has been pushed back indefinitely after the Los Angeles Clippers revealed late Monday night that their No. 1 overall draft pick has a broken left kneecap. The stress fracture could sideline the Oklahoma star for six weeks, the team announced, promising further information Tuesday.

    Grammy Award winning R&B supergroup Boyz II Men (l-r Wanya Morris, Shawn Stockman and Nathan Morris) were on hand for the big official debut of Princess Tiana (of the forthcoming animated movie ‘The Princess and the Frog’) at the Magic Kingdom in Lake Buena Vista, Florida on Oct. 26, 2009. The former Motown Records hit-makers visited the world’s most famous amusement destination as part of Disneyworld’s annual Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, where they performed a string of hits during the “Eat to the Beat” event. Earlier in the day, the ‘End of the Road’ singers helped welcome Princess Tiana during her theme park debut, which included an official procession, a New Orleans-inspired second line parade, and a 15 minute musical presentation.

  • Colts’ Sanders may make ’09 debut Sunday (AP)

Colts safety Bob Sanders is on track to make his season debut Sunday at St. Louis. The 2007 NFL defensive player of the year is expected to participate in most of Indianapolis' workouts this week. Coach Jim Caldwell said Wednesday, Oct. 21. 2009,  the team hopes he can play against the Rams but the decision will be made later this week.

    Bob Sanders hopes to make his season debut Sunday at St. Louis. The 2007 NFL defensive player of the year, who has not played in a game since January, is expected to participate in most of the team's practice work this week. For the first time this season, Sanders was not listed on the team's injury report Wednesday.

    So much for getting to know each other. The LeBron and Shaq Show is off and running. NBA icons, All-Stars and A-plus-list celebrities LeBron James and Shaquille O'Neal made their debut as Cleveland teammates on Tuesday night and had immediate chemistry in the Cavaliers' 92-87 preseason-opening victory over the Charlotte Bobcats.

    Vince Carter scored 21 points in his Orlando debut and Brandon Bass added seven of his 13 points in the final two minutes to lift the Magic to a 110-105 victory over the Dallas Mavericks in the preseason opener for both teams on Monday night. Carter, who was acquired by the Magic in an offseason trade with the Toronto Raptors, scored 15 points in the third quarter.

  • Yanks clinch playoff spot as Texas loses (AP)

    The New York Yankees are headed back to the playoffs, clinching their 14th appearance in 15 seasons with the Texas Rangers' loss at Oakland. New York missed the postseason for the first time since 1994 last fall in manager Joe Girardi's debut campaign. The Yankees won 17 playoff series and four World Series in that 13-year span.

    Lawrence Tynes sent home the largest regular-season crowd in NFL history muttering about what might've been. Tynes kicked a 37-yard field goal as time expired, giving the New York Giants a 33-31 victory over the turnover-prone Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night and ruining the debut of their rival's $1.15 billion stadium.

We’ve made up enough story lines for Making the Band. I want to make a reality show. I want to tell people the truth. I’m doing some gritty things.”
